More from the Park

While Nate busied himself with blownig bubbles, Gavin and I sat nearby taking pictures and trying to catch the bubbles as they quickly blew away in the wind!

Still Exploring the World!

Look, it's Minnie Mouse!

Today at the park, Nate found a Minnie Mouse hat on the ground. I've tried so hard to teach him NOT to pick up garbage from the ground but this time there was no stopping Minnie Mouse.

Windy Day

Gavin's first introduction to the wind was this afternoon. He didn't quite know what to think of it at first but then it made him smile.

Not Quite Sitting Up

...nor rolling over, nor touching his toes! Gavin is a little behind in his gross motor skills, I think, but he's ALL SMILES. If he doesn't care - we don't care!

Tottie and Cousin Ella

Ella and her Mommy!

Welcome to God's Church!

This weekend we welcomed Gavin into God's church! He was finally baptized. It was a special day for our wee one. His Godparents are Paula and John's longtime friend, Matt Hoover. Everyone gathered at our house afterwards for brunch.

A Day at the Park

It's Still Summertime!

A Northern Retreat

We took many pictures on our First Annual Severson Getaway!

On Seagull's Wings

John and his dad feeding the Seagulls - they got very close to them!

Weekend in Boof

Last weekend we went to Boof! That's how Nathan says Duluth. He was one active boy this weekend. When isn't he?! Gavin watches him closely and has become very fond of his older brother. I'm sure he's busy taking it all in until one day he explodes with energy and is a nevernding ball of motion just like his brother.

There were even some trees turning colors already! It seems too early for that but I don't mind! It's the best time of year!

Here's another CHRISTMAS UPDATE: there are currently 104 days, two hours and 38 minutes until Christmas!!!

Some random pictures from the weekend...

This is what Gavin was doing while Mom and Dad were exploring the rocky shores. He was under the watchful eye of Grandpa and Grandma...

who were sitting in what they call "our spot," where they go to read while they visit the Duluth area - here they are -There were even some roses growing on a boulevard near Duluth, which we saw on one of our walks!

And, of course, a common sighting in the Duluth area - the seagull.

Gavin was all bundled up, ready for a cool walk along the lake! He looked SO cute! Of course, I could be slightly biased.

Walk the Rock

It was on our last day in Duluth that we went to the northern end (again) and walked along Lake Superior. Nathan had fun running ALL OVER the place! He picked up rocks, made rock piles, aligned the rocks just so on a picnic table and then pushed them all onto the ground only to start over again! That is the thrilling life of a toddler. He's very organized and everything has to be 'just so' or he will either not want to do it or he will start all over again until it is perfect - in this case, aligning rocks all in single file. We even let Nate come down to the big rocks with us for a while but we were careful not to let him get too close to the wet, slippery rocks. DANGEROUS!

Here, Nate isn't too happy to be standing still - he wanted to stay in MOTION!

Gavin's First Woodland Adventure

Even Gavin enjoyed the time at the park in Duluth! Luckily we had good weather for our weekend up north; it was PERFECT, cool sweatshirt weather and a great day for picture taking.

While we were walking around in the woods I found this flower growing all alone amongst the rock with the sun coming through the clouds and hitting only the flower! It was as though the flower was screaming to be photographed!

Playing with Grandpa

Grandpa Severson spent lots of time with Nate last weekend! This is near a park north of Duluth.

My Husband the Giant!

We walked around Canal Park this weekend where John was able to touch the very top of the lighthouse! This gives a good idea just how very tall he really is!

About Town

Today the four of us ventured downtown Minneapolis for a stroll in the sun (and some excellent photo ops!)...-

A Vintage Landmark?

Apparently this sign has been here for more than 40 years!

Hot Child in the City

Nate wanted to push the stroller back to the van after our walk downtown.
