Gotta Wear Shades
Today we went to the park. Twice. It was an "exciting" day! The b&w pic is Nate and his forced smile. This is the smile he makes when actually told to smile on cue.
We had a fun day! I've almost gotten over last night's incident where he wrote all over my favorite micro-fiber suede chair with black magic marker...

Yet Another Cute Photo Op
The Traveling Fun Show
Our Memorial Day weekend ended with a trip to The Park at MOA, formerly known as Camp Snoopy. What a fun place for a two-year-old! Nathan loved the semi truck ride so we took turns taking him on that ride three times, among other fun kiddie rides.
Our family outings are always a blast until ... Hunger Strikes! Frantically pushing our double stroller in search of a good place to change diapers and feed Gavin, I hear Nate crying out for his pacifier saying, "Noot! Noot!" and he only gets more and more upset when we cannot hear his cries above Gavin's high-pitched hunger scream. We must have looked like the traveling fun show.
I seriously think it's time to start weaning little Nate off his "noot." I can see it now, Nater's first day of kindergarten - Mommy and Daddy stand at the end of the driveway watching him peer at us from the window of the bus and then he waves bye-bye while sucking on his noot. I imagine it would look much like the picture you see here as he waves from his little semi truck while sucking his fave, the "Tiggi Noot," a lovely noot with a picture of Tigger on it. Ahhh yes, it's time to do something about this addiction of his. And just when I thought our battles were over for a while now that we have finished a successful transition to the big boy's toddler bed. The joys of parenting!

What a Zoo!
It was a very hot morning at the zoo. We realized when we got there that we should have planned a weekday visit instead because of how busy it was. It took us almost as long to find a parking spot as it did to walk there! We missed the giraffes, which are Nater's favorite so we will have to see those next time. The highlight of Nate's day was the ice cream; he was so excited when he saw someone else eating it and he kept saying, "eggeen, eggeen!" Toddler talk for ice cream. After we told him, "We're going to find you some; we'll get some..." he continuously reminded us by saying, "Get some. Get some."
It would have been nice to see the conservatory, not to mention the rides we walked by. Nate would have loved to ride the train. We'll have to do that next time too. It just got too hot and too close to his naptime. Good thing we had lots of snacks and water! Gavin slept right through the adventure with the exception of our pit stop for a diaper change under a shady tree.

Gavin!
Cute Boys
Cousins
What a blessing it is to have my sister so close; she lives exactly ten minutes from me. Willa and I have been doing a lot more together this spring and it has been fun to see how well Nathan takes to Ella. Although, since Gavin was born April 29, Nathan has been somewhat aloof towards babies. I know he must be thinking, "These babies are slowly taking over my turf! What's UP with this???" Actually, I think he is starting to learn that Mommy still loves him just as much or more than ever. Next week my sister and I will take the kids to the zoo if the weather cooperates. That is sure to be a fun adventure!

Something New
I'm trying something new - joining the blogging world. After visiting several friends' blogs I decided this might be fun. At least it is a way to share pictures and updates on my three boys. I don't really know who would be interested in blogging from a stay-at-home mom, our lives are that of a basic suburban family living in the Minneapolis area. Regardless, I will give this a try anyway! Happy Tuesday!
